JOHN STUFFLEBEAN

My great-great grandfather

Co. F, 25th Regiment Missouri Infantry and Co. H, 1st Regiment of Engineers Volunteers. 
Enlisted May 2, 1863 in St. Joseph, Mo. Farmer, age 41; 5 feet 10, light complexion; hazel eyes;
brown hair. 
Rank: Private; promoted to Artificer in Engineers in January 1864. 
Mustered in July 15, 1863 in New Madrid, Mo. 
While in service, died of natural causes in Cumberland Hospital in Nashville. 
Married: July Emma Beals, Dec. 25, 1845 in Linn County, Mo., and they had two children. She died 
in Mo. Married: Matilda M. Peavler, June 9, 1853 in Linn County, Mo. John and Matilda had five 
children. 
Born June 30, 1821 in Estill County, Ky. Died June 10, 1864 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tenn. 
Buried in City Cemetery, Nashville, Tenn. 
Matilda Stufflebean applied for pension benefits June 24, 1864.
