My GG Grandfather served in the Civil War on the side of the North.
I have many of his papers from the National Archives.
His name was Reuben P. Day
He lived in Smith and Osage Twps. in Laclede County, MO. He lived there
between 1856 and left after 1870 but before 1880 to Sebastain County, Arkansas.
He was in Company B. 46th Regiment Missouri Infantry and enlisted a second
time in Company H 14th Missouri Cavalry. He mustard out with his company
in Ft. Leavenworth KS. 8/31/1865.
He died 7 May 1893 in Aurora Twp., Madison Co. Arkansas is buried at the
Aurora Cemetery there. I visited his grave in 2003. He has a grave stone.
I believe his son William Day served as well. I don’t know Williams middle name,
there are at least two Williams listed as MO. Veterans but I don’t know for sure if
one of those is my William Day.
I would appreciate any information relating to the two units he was in.
